Sulabh suffered serious head injuries after his bike met with an accident in the Katra area. It is being said that the road was slippery due to rain and his motorcycle slipped and overturned causing him fatal head injuries.
However, Sulabh’s letter to the ADG has led to suspicions being cast over his death and ABP News demands UP police to investigate the case considering the murder angle as well.
Talking about this, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee said: “What happened in Uttar Pradesh today? A reporter of ABP News has been murdered. I condemn this”.
She made the remarks while announcing the extension of Coronavirus-induced restrictions in the state till July 1.
2 days prior to his death, Sulabh had written a letter saying that he felt his and his family’s life is in danger after he exposed the liquor mafia. He demanded protection from the UP police as he felt like somebody was following him.
Before CM Mamata Banerjee, Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh raised suspicion over the death by terming it as “murder”. Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has also raised questions over the administration of Uttar Pradesh and said that the government is asleep.
Meanwhile, Pratapgarh Police has registered FIR against unknown persons at Kolwali Police Station.
