New Delhi: Mortal remains of Soumya Santosh has arrived in New Delhi, Union Minister of State for External Affairs V. Muraleedharan & Parliamentary Affairs & Deputy Chief of Mission Rony Yedidia of the Israel Embassy paid their respects.
Soumya Santosh who working as a housemaid in Israel was killed during an airstrike when a Palestinian rocket fell at her residence in Ashkelon.
“The mortal remains of Ms Soumya Santhosh, who was killed in rocket attacks from Gaza, are being repatriated today from Israel to Kerala through Delhi. They will reach her native place tomorrow. I will personally be receiving the remains in Delhi. May her soul rest in peace,” Muraleedharan said in a tweet.

Soumya, hailing from Keerithodu in Idukki district, had been working as a housemaid in Israel for the last seven years, her relatives said. She has a nine-year-old son whom she had left with her husband in Kerala.
She was speaking to her husband Santosh over the phone when the rocket fell at her residence. According to Santosh’s brother, Santosh heard a huge sound before the call was disconnected immediately they contacted fellow Malayalees working there and got to know about the incident.
According local media reports, her 80-year-old elderly charge is said to have survived the direct hit on the house and is hospitalised in a serious condition.
Soumya’s remains will reach her native place on Saturday.
