Mumbai: Bollywood actor Sonu Sood, who has been actively working towards providing support to the COVID-19 patients, mourned the demise of Bharti. The ‘Simmba’ star had got the 25-year-old girl airlifted from Nagpur to Hyderabad for treatment as she was critically ill after contracting the virus.
Sood penned a heartfelt post to express his grief over Bharti’s death. The COVID-19 patient passed away on Friday (May 7) after a long battle with the virus. The ‘Dabangg’ actor offered his condolence to Bharti’s family and said that he would meet her loved ones soon.

Sonu called Bharti a ‘Tigress’ and said that she will always hold a ‘special place’ in his heart. Fans have flooded to comments section with the messages.
“Bharti, a young girl from Nagpur whom I airlifted on an air ambulance to Hyderabad passed away last night. Rest In Power My Dear Bharti. You fought the last month like a complete tigress on an Ecmo machine. Even though I never met you, you’ll Always hold a very special place in my Heart. My condolences to her entire family, I’m going to meet them very soon. Life is genuinely unfair at times. Will miss you Bharti,” his post read.
Bharti, who was diagnosed with Coronavirus, had lost almost 85-90 per cent of her lungs. “Doctors had said that the chances are 20 per cent and asked me whether I still wanted to go ahead with it. I said of course,” Sonu told ANI while talking about treatment.
The talented actor, who emerged as the messiah for migrant workers during COVID-19 lockdown, has launched several initiatives to help the people amid the pandemic.
On the professional front, Sood will be next seen in ‘Prithviraj’. The film also stars Akshay Kumar and Manushi Chillar.
