Mumbai: Bollywood celebrities have been actively encouraging their fans to get vaccinated to safeguard themselves from COVID-19. Many tinsel town stars have shared photos on social media after receiving their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine to urge their followers to participate in the extended phase of vaccination drive.
Farhan Akhtar took to Twitter to inform his fans that he has received his first dose of the Coronavirus vaccine in Mumbai. He shared a suggestion for the people waiting for their turn in his post. The ‘Rock On’ star asked them to stay patient during the process and carry water and food items with them, if needed.
“Got my first jab today via drive through at Andheri sports complex. Thank you to @mybmc & @MumbaiPolice for the streamlined system. To those waiting their turn, the process does take 2-3 hours (for now) so please be patient. Carry water & a snack, if need be. Stay safe,” Akhtar wrote on the micro-blogging site.
Farhan has postponed the release of his upcoming film ‘Toofan’ on Amazon Prime Video in wake of the rise in COVID-19 cases. The sports drama co-starring Mrunal Thakur was originally slated to premiere directly on the leading OTT platform on May 21. The movie will now release at a later date.
“In light of the severity of the situation, our focus is completely on the pandemic and on supporting our employees, their families and in helping the wider community. Therefore, we have taken the decision to postpone the release of our film ‘Toofaan’ until the situation improves,” the ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ said in a statement.
