David Miller played a shot in the long-on direction. Faf and Hasnain ran towards the ball to complete the catch but Du Plessis’s head hit Hasnain’s knee and the concussed South African then fell on the ground. Later, Faf had to be taken to the hospital for further scans, as per Pakistan media reports.
As per the new ICC rules, a concussion substitute can be allowed for a player after he sustains a head injury. In such a situation, Saim Ayub replaced Faf du Plessis. In the match, Peshawar scored 197/5 in their allotted 20 overs. David Miller played a fiery knock by scoring 73 runs off just 46 balls with the help of 6 fours and 4 sixes.
Apart from him, Rovman Powell and wicket-keeper batsman Kamran Akmal played a brilliant innings of 59 and 43 runs, respectively.
PSL had to be stopped midway in early March 2021 as a couple of players tested positive for Covid-19. Shockingly, despite the bio-secure bubble, players tested positive for Coronavirus infection.
