Following the court order, the Delhi Police Commissioner SN Shrivastava asked a team of Crime Branch to conduct an enquiry. Police had earlier approached AAP MLA Dilip Pandey in connection with the same issue.
Responding to this issue, Congress tweeted saying, “Your cowardice is showing PM Modi. India knows the only reason you’re trying to stop @IYC is because @srinivasiyc & thousands of Indians like him are ruining your image further. They’ve done what you have never been able to do: help people without prejudice. #IStandWithIYC”
Names given by the petitioner Singh, chairman of the non-profit Hrudaya Foundation, in his complaint to police include Pandey, Srinivas as well as BJP MPs Gautam Gambhir and Sujay Vikhe, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Congress MLA Mukesh Sharma.
