Kolkata: Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief Mamata Banerjee to take oath as the chief minister of West Bengal for the third consecutive term. TMC emerged victorious in the high-stakes West Bengal Assembly Elections. The oath-taking ceremony is organized at Raj Bhavan. It will be a low-key program given the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
As she gets sworn in there are certain challenges in front of the TMC leader.

Here are some of the issues she’ll have to tackle as soon as she is sworn in:
- The violence that erupted soon after the election results were announced. During an intreview with NDTV she said “Some sporadic incidents are there, but that will be tackled. After election it happens in every state. I don’t want any violence or anything. BJP is trying to create communal clash, because of their shameful defeat”. BJP has report at least 6 deaths in the violence resultant of the election outcome. Whereas, TMC itself reported 4.
- Covid cases surge, currently there 120946 active cases in the state of West Bengal.
